Acne skin plans · Cambridge
Struggling with your skin? You don't have to figure it out alone.
I create personal skin plans for acne and breakout-prone skin. We'll get to the bottom of what's going on, build a plan that fits your life, and I'll be with you every step of the way.
Book your skin consultationI know how much it affects you
Acne isn't just about your skin. It's hiding under make-up, avoiding photos, cancelling plans and spending a fortune on products that promise everything and change nothing.
Lots of my clients come to me feeling like they've tried it all. You're not doing anything wrong. You just haven't had the right plan yet, and that's exactly what I'm here for.
What's actually happening in your skin?
Acne starts inside the pore. Understanding it is the first step to looking after your skin properly, rather than attacking it.
- Extra oil. Hormones and stress can make your skin produce more oil than it needs.
- Blocked pores. Dead skin cells don't shed properly, mix with oil and clog the pore.
- Bacteria. Bacteria that live naturally on the skin can multiply inside a blocked pore.
- Inflammation. Your skin reacts, causing the redness, swelling and soreness you see and feel.
Types of breakouts
Blackheads and whiteheads
Blocked pores that aren't inflamed, often across the nose, chin and forehead.
Red, sore spots
Inflamed bumps and pus-filled spots, known as papules and pustules.
Deep, painful spots
Nodules and cysts sit deep under the skin. These need a doctor's input, and I can support your skin alongside them.
Marks left behind
Dark or red marks after a spot heals, and uneven texture or scarring.
What can make it worse?
Breakouts usually have more than one cause, which is why a one-size-fits-all approach so often fails. These are some of the things I'll look at with you.
Adult acne is really common, especially in women. If you've started breaking out in your twenties, thirties or later, you're definitely not alone.
- Hormones: monthly cycles, contraception changes, pregnancy and conditions like PCOS
- Stress and sleep: both can affect oil production and inflammation
- Too many products: harsh scrubs and over-cleansing can damage your skin barrier
- The wrong products: heavy, pore-clogging skincare, make-up or hair products
- Picking and squeezing: this spreads inflammation and makes marks more likely
- Lifestyle: for some people, diet, sweat and friction from masks or phones play a part
How your skin plan works
Every plan is completely bespoke. Your treatments are chosen for your skin at each visit, and change as your skin improves.
Consultation and skin analysis
We talk through your skin history, routine, lifestyle, health and goals, and I analyse your skin to understand what's driving your breakouts.
Calm and repair
If your skin is irritated or stripped, we settle it first. A healthy skin barrier makes everything else work better.
Bespoke treatments in clinic
I tailor every treatment to how your skin is behaving on the day, rather than following a set menu.
Your routine at home
You'll leave with a simple, step-by-step routine using WISH Skin Health, so your skin is supported between appointments.
Progress photos and check-ins
We track your skin with photos and regular reviews, and adjust your plan as it changes. You can message me if you're unsure about anything.
Keeping your results
Once your skin is calmer, we focus on any marks left behind and a maintenance plan to keep it that way.
Why I use WISH Skin Health
WISH Skin Health is one of my favourite brands for breakout-prone skin. It's professional skincare, created with active ingredients chosen for congested, oily and blemish-prone skin.
Unlike buying products online and hoping for the best, your WISH routine is chosen by me for your skin. I'll show you how and when to use each product, introduce actives gradually, and change your routine as your skin changes.
Some of the strongest products in the range are only available after a professional skin assessment, so you're always using the right strength for your skin.

Every skin journey is different, but this is what a personal plan and consistency can do.
A client's skin before and after her personal skin plan, shared with her permission. Results vary from person to person.

Common questions
How long will it take?
Every skin is different. Many clients notice their skin feeling calmer within a few weeks, but real, lasting change usually takes a few months. Your skin takes time to renew, so consistency is everything.
Will my skin get worse before it gets better?
Some active ingredients can cause a temporary flare while your skin adjusts. I introduce products gradually and will always tell you what to expect.
Do I need to change my diet?
Diet affects some people more than others. We'll talk about your lifestyle at your consultation, but your plan will never be about cutting out foods you love without good reason.
Can I still wear make-up?
Yes. I'll help you choose products that are less likely to clog your pores, and tell you if you need to avoid make-up after a particular treatment.
I'm on medication for my skin. Can I still come?
Yes. Please tell me about anything you've been prescribed, including isotretinoin (such as Roaccutane), antibiotics or retinoids. Some treatments need to wait, and you should keep following your doctor's advice.
When should I see a doctor?
If your breakouts are severe, painful, deep or cystic, are leaving scars, or are affecting your mental health, please speak to your GP or a dermatologist. I can support your skin alongside their care.
